Why a tank system

A tank-style RO stores purified water ahead of time. That means a steady, pressurized flow at the faucet and plenty of water on hand during busy periods, which is what most households want. Corrosion-resistant materials and a sealed air chamber keep maintenance low.

Frequently asked questions

How does reverse osmosis work?
Water is pushed through filters and a semipermeable membrane that blocks most dissolved solids. The purified water is stored in a pressurized tank and delivered to a dedicated faucet at your sink.
How much water does it make?
The system produces about 50 gallons per day, with a storage tank for on-demand use. That is plenty for drinking, cooking, coffee, and ice for a typical household.
Does it waste water?
Reverse osmosis sends a portion of incoming water to the drain while it cleans the membrane. With 25 to 30% recovery, roughly 2 to 3 gallons go to drain for every gallon of purified water. That is normal for an under-sink RO system.
Will it remove fluoride?
RO membranes typically reduce fluoride along with other dissolved solids. San Diego adjusts its fluoride to about 0.7 ppm, so if you prefer to keep it, tell us and we will talk through your options.
How long does installation take?
Reverse osmosis drinking systems take around two hours. We install under your kitchen sink with its own faucet, protect your floors, and leave everything clean.
What maintenance does it need?
The filters and membrane are replaced on a schedule, and we will walk you through it. We service what we install.
Do I still need bottled water?
No. That is the point. You get purified drinking and cooking water from your own tap.
How much does it cost?
Every kitchen is a little different, so we give a flat written quote with no surprises. Financing is available, with a soft credit check that takes about 3 to 5 minutes.
